Veterans Day Parade and Celebration in Houston
Mayor Bill White invites Houstonians to join him in honoring service men and women by attending the annual Veteran's Day parade followed this year by Houston Freedom Fest. The headliner for the Houston Freedom Fest concert is country music recording artist Lee Greenwood. Also appearing will be the Texas A&M Singing Cadets and Houston gospel recording artist Barbara Tucker. The events will take place Sunday, November 11 th , 2007 on the steps of City Hall at 901 Bagby.
The observance begins this year with the customary 11 th hour moment of silence, held at 11:00 a.m. on November 11, every year. The moment of silence will take place on the steps of City Hall, near the Hermann Square Reflecting Pool.
A military flyover will mark the start of the Annual Veteran's Day parade, at 1p.m. Over 125 entries including military divisions, VFW posts, military vehicles, marching bands and local personalities will be there. Special guests marching in this year's parade will be Vietnam Veterans from the 2 nd Battalion, 1 st Marines. The parade coincides with the reunion of this group of Vietnam Veterans in Houston.
The parade route begins at the corner of Texas Avenue and Smith Street. The procession moves south on Smith Street to Lamar then westward on Lamar, concluding on Bagby.
The Houston Freedom Fest and Veteran's Concert will get under way at 2 p.m. Located at Hermann Square next to City Hall, The Houston Freedom Fest includes military equipment displays, wellness booths, and speeches from military generals and veterans. Social service agencies will be on hand to provide information and help for veterans and their families.
Complimentary Parking is available in the Theater District Garages if you arrive before 12:30 p.m.

Forth Annual Tree Lighting at the Conroe Outlets
This year’s show will be unlike any other with a holiday performance by Jingle Jamz, a high-energy family act celebrating the spirit of the holidays.
