Coldspring 7:30pm
The Coldsprings Trojans came into Splendora Friday night looking to return home with a share of the District 22 AAA crown. A victory over the Wildcats would have given the Trojans a share of the district championship along with Splendora and the Cleveland  Indians  .  However, the defending champion Wildcats were greedy and had no intentions of sharing their title.

The Trojans took an early lead on a 26 yard scoring run with 10:15 remaining in the 1st quarter. The point after kick was good giving Coldsprings their first lead by a score of 7-0.
The Wildcats fought back with a long scoring drive when Josh Ables found the end zone on a 10 yard run with 5:14 remaining in the 1st quarter. The kick by Drew Purdy tied the game at 7-7

Early in the 2nd quarter Matthew Kite scored for the Wildcats on an 8 yard run to give the Cats their first lead of the night.Once again Drew Purdy connected on the point after kick to put Splendora out front by a score of 14-7.

Neither team could manage to put any points on the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter but with 9:08 left in the game the Trojans managed to score on a 9 yard touchdown pass. Not willing to settle for tieing the game Coldsprings opted to go for the lead. The successful 2 point conversion put the Trojans in the lead by a score of 15-14.

Never say die, Splendora fought back scoring on a 17 yard run by Joe Connell. Connell also added the 2 point conversion putting Splendora back in the lead with 4:27 remaining in the game by a score of 22-15.

The Wildcat defense held the Trojan offense, regaining posession of the football for Splendora. With just under 2 minutes remaining in the game the Wildcat offense fumbled while fighting to pick up one final first down to be able to run out the clock. Two plays later the Trojan Offense fumbled a pitch and the Wildcats recovered. This time quarterback Drew Purdy was able to take a knee on the snap and allow the clock to wind down to 0:00 giving Splendora their second consecutive 22 AAA District Championship as well as their second year in a row without a district loss.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play their bi-district playoff game against the Jasper Bulldogs Saturday November 17th at 1:00 p.m. at the Humble High School Stadium.
