14th Annual Montgomery County Municipal Employee Scholarship Association Barbecue Cook Off @ the Montgomery County Fairgrounds
Admission to the event is $5 for the adults and kids 18 and under are free. Festivities will include competition judging on the following categories - brisket, ribs, chicken, open meat category, margarita's and new this year, chili. Also included this year will be the "infamous" cake auction. All proceeds from this event benefit the Montgomery County and Muicipal Employee Scholarship Association. Montgomery County Wide Garage Sale
The Montgomery County Employees' Committee is happy to announce the return of the County Wide Garage Sale on June 30. This year's sale is open to grage sale items and handmade/homemade craft items. Booth spaces are currently available to any county employee. There are three different sizes of 10x10= $10, 8x16= $15, and 12x16= $20. There will be a deadline of April 9th to reserve a booth and receive these prices. The Lone Star Family Health Center has received a grant from the state to offer family planning services to low-income individuals in the Montgomery County area offering contraception, pregnancy testing, IUD placement, tubaligations, vasectomies, low cost birth birth control pills and nutrition counseling. FREE SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES/DIABETES
Each summer, the Texas Lions Camp gives children with physical disabilities and Type 1 diabetes the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, and build self-esteem.
